grandtheft trap jersey club edm deep house

Portland welcomes Toronto based DJ and producer Grandtheft tonight at downtown’s Whiskey Bar. With him will come a spate of dance music genres that are bound to elicit a couple of “HEY” chants from the crowd  – a sampling of his songs have been added to the Pump U playlist, listen below for trap (Technicolor edit, Keep it 100 ), jersey club (Heavy Hitterz), big room (Close remix) and some top notch top 40 remixes.

This end of the week playlist is Brazen

The visual representation of a trap playlist is a creative and diverse one.

The visual representation of a trap playlist is a creative and diverse one.

Bold and laden with brass. 10 trap and bass songs totaling 36 minutes – probably best used for goin-real-hard-bro at the gym or some sort of late-night-dummy-dance-off. Or for when you’re at your desk job and turnin’ up on some excel spreadsheets.

[free dl] Tegan and Sara – Closer (backstroke. Remix)

“Beats in bright colors” is the description backstroke. gives in his soundcloud bio. Pretty accurate description for music that’s part poppy, dancey and trap-inspired. The mix of Tegan and Sara is a bit of an interesting one – it still carries the over-the-top pop feel of the original but viewed in a whole new light.

DCUP – Someone Told Me (backstroke. remix) solid all the way through, but a big fan of the last minute or so.

The backstroke. original ‘Lanelines’ is tropical, trappy and mellow. Simple but effective.
